Hi and welcome to Stop Awhile.

In my memory, the name goes back to when people would turn up at our door and The Mammy would say ‘Ah, it’s yourself, come in, have a cuppa tea and Stop Awhile.

I’ll be looking at songs I love and fulfilling a promise I made to myself many years ago to look at the story behind the song.

This is my invitation to you to pause for a few minutes and join me. Hopefully you will be entertained or learn something and then you can get back to whatever it was you were doing. I’d love to hear if you have discovered anything about your own favourite songs. So, do get in touch.
